Experience the star-studded moment with Anggun – the French-Indonesian talent unveils her one-and-only wax figure At Madame Tussauds Bangkok herself!

Bangkok, 1 September 2016 – Record-breaking singer-songwriter and World Music Award winner Anggun today unveiled her brand new wax figure and immersive Asia’s Got Talent experience at Madame Tussauds Bangkok. The exciting new set, in which Anggun’s fans have the unique chance to audition on the daunting stage on front of the superstar judge, was launched by Anggun herself in an exclusive event where her fans from across the world flew in to meet their favourite artist.

At the launch, Mr. Noppadon Prapimpunt, Head of Bangkok Cluster, Merlin Entertainments (Thailand) Ltd., said: “Not only is Anggun a true talent and the world's most-renowned Indonesian-born personality, but her first international album was also released in 33 countries worldwide. Anggun is Asia's best-selling female artiste outside Asia and boasts singles on Billboard charts in both Europe and America. Her recent role as one of the judges of Asia’s Got Talent also proves that Anggun is truly one of the world’s most recognised people. Many of Anggun’s fans and Madame Tussauds visitors have requested us to create her wax figure, therefore, it is our great honour to have the real Anggun with us here today and our great pleasure to welcome her wax figure here at Madame Tussauds Bangkok.”

While unveiling the new experience, in which especially selected Karaoke songs will be available for guests to perform, the United Nations Goodwill Ambassador also shared the story behind the detailed sculpting process for her figure – whose dress and jewelry have been created by legendary fashion designer JEAN-PAUL GAULTIER in his workshop in the heart of Paris. She said: “When Madame Tussauds first reached out to me I thought they wanted me to sing at an event, but when I discovered that they would be making a wax figure of me I was really surprised and delighted because Madame Tussauds have created some of the most famous people in the world. When I found out that this came about due to requests from my fans, I was flattered and honoured. I met the talented Madame Tussauds artistry team in London and they measured my body and took over 350 photos of me. I was very impressed by the dedication, professionalism, as well as the high craftsmanship of the team.”

Anggun added a message to her fans, saying: “Madame Tussauds Bangkok and I welcome all fans, but don’t be naughty or touch any part that you are not supposed to!”
