DESCRIPTION:
MIKE GAUBE’S HEADBANGERS THEME SONG, a new track featuring the headbanging fury of George Lynch (Dokken, KXM, Lynch Mob, Project N’Fidelikah, Souls of We), Ken Mary (Alice Cooper, Bonfire, Chastain, Fifth Angel, House of Lords, Impellitteri, TKO, Tuff), Nick Bowcott (Grim Reaper), Christian Lee (Sectas), Steve Conley (Flotsam & Jetsam, F5), David Ellefson (F5, Megadeth, amongst others), “Wild” Mick Brown (Dokken, Lynch Mob, Ted Nugent), and John Aquilino (Icon). The track, which serves as the theme for Gaube’s show, was a collaborative effort between local and internationally-known musicians to bring attention to the new face of Internet radio. According to Gaube, “I loved this song when Bruce Bray brought it to me and knew that with the people I wanted to play on it, that it would be awesome. The fact that I had George Lynch and Wild Mick Brown together on the same track--I specifically put their parts together on the outro so when you hear that galloping drumbeat kick in under George's solo, it's like they are playing together again. Even though my vision got kind of lost while creating this project, I am still very happy happy with the finished product. As far as I know, no other DJ has done this before.”

Originally created by local musician/composer Bruce Bray with assistance from Randy Walker, John Aquilino and Ken Mary, the track serves to blend a variety of well-known musicians who have called Phoenix “home” with local guitar hero Christian Lee, whose band Sectas is currently gaining national traction. Says Gaube, “I’ve always wanted to be able to open people’s eyes to the incredible talent we have here in the Valley, and Internet radio is the right platform for the kind of music that you just don't hear on regular radio anymore.”

An 11-year veteran of the Arizona radio world, Gaube has been passionate about Internet radio since the recent blood-letting across the dial, including the format shift two-plus years ago that left Phoenix airwaves bereft of the 43-year legacy that had been 93.3 KDKB. “Internet radio allows the freedom you just don't get on terrestrial radio. Having said that, I would love to be back on terrestrial radio.” Gaube adds.
