[Glam Rock/Synth Rock/Hard Rock/AOR/Metal/Glam Metal] Here is glam rock singer Steve Thomson with his self titled first album: "Steve Thomson". AMAZING hard rock AOR album that truly went unnoticed and possibly due to the fact that Glam Metal was such a big deal at that time and every one seemed to be releasing rock records around 1988/1989. A lot of the tracks on this album remind me of the song "Look Away" by Chicago (which is one of my favorite songs from that band). If you like the group Europe (The Final Countdown) mixed with the band Survivor (Eye Of The Tiger) then you are gonna like this AOR masterpiece that Thomson has cooked up. It's funny how he can be easily confused with Steve Thompson who was a pretty notable rock producer and remixer for Guns N' Roses, possibly that is another reason why Steve didn't make the splash he deserved with this album. I honestly could not find much on him other than that he is from Switzerland, and his song "Europe" (Track 12) was a big hit back in 1988 overseas. There was also a song called "African Queen" that was a hit but wasn't included into this first album...it was planned but wasn't included. From what i found, this album was actually a best seller overseas in 1989 and went even GOLD. Shocking because it failed miserably in the united states. The song called "Love Of Money" (Track 9) was actually written from Michael Bolton, Neil Schon and Jonathan Cain. This album was released under Phonag Records, and Mercury Records '89.
