STEPHEN JAMES
Stephen hails from Sligo and from an early age he recalls songs and tunes being played in the family home. Music became part of his everyday life. He started out as a DJ, playing Electronic Dance Music and he performed at many dance events nationwide. This was a passion which he pursued for a number of years until he had the calling to return to traditional Irish music which led to him taking up the guitar and bodhran. From there he began to listen to and become influenced by roots, rock and roll, folk and contemporary music. Stephen started writing songs in his early twenties, his influences are people, their stories and life itself. Currently residing in Dublin, Stephen is a regular at the Ruby Sessions and in Whelans. He is Currently recording his debut album with Gavin Glass in Dublin,with an EP to precede this coming out very soon. Last year also saw Stephen play at MIX TAPE in Vicar Street on New Years Eve.
