Review:
I have to admit that the first time I heard this remake of the Phase II/Blaze classic [probably my favourite dance record of all time] I thought it was sacrilege. To touch such a record, I thought, was a criminal offence punishable by a good slap upside the head [at the very least]. But I was wrong. This is a fine and respectful update that is produced with bags of style by Stefano Gamma and is sung superbly by Orlando Johnson and an uncredited bunch of ladeeez who provide the essential harmonies. A cleverly changed bassline meshes with the originally flavoured piano, funky guitar and bright, bouncy beats, while the fine vocals do the job that nature intended. And, unlike the original, this version isn't impossible to mix out of. You might not like the idea, but, trust me, you'll like the record. (Alan Russell)
