Zgard is the personal atmospheric pagan black metal project of Yaromisl from West Ukraine, who is also a member of the pagan metal band Говерла (Goverla)
In this album Zgard have done an impressive work with the vocals. All pagan black metal screams are by the guest vocalist Dusk (from the band Endless Battle and Stryvigor also Ukrainian BM bands) whose voice adds an extreme touch in the album, combined with Yaromisl’s wonderful epic clean vocals, choirs and atmospheric spoken parts. The amazing guest female vocals in the song “Contemplation” is also a very welcome addition.

ZGARD is a synonym for “amulet” in the culture of Huzuls, an ethno-cultural group who for centuries have inhabited the Carpathian mountains, and Carpathian folklore has been a strong inspiration in the music of Zgard.
