SOLUNA
Since 2006 Soluna works on a set of traditional songs from the Balkans, the southeast of Europe, in which the various influences of different cultures
manifested a rich musical tradition. Its spectrum reaches from traditional Arabic and Turkish music, from Greek, Macedonian, Albanian, Bulgarian and Romanian Folk Dances, to the music of the Sinti and Roma and Sephardic Jews.

Seit 2006 erarbeitet Soluna ein Programm aus traditionellem Liedgut der Balkanregion, dem Südosten Europas, in dem die mannigfachen Einflüsse verschiedener Kulturen eine reiche musikalische Tradition geschaffen haben. Von Arabischer und Türkischer Musik, über Griechische, Mazedonische, Albanische, Bulgarische und Rumänische Volkstänze, bis hin zu Einflüssen der Sinti und Roma und Sephardischen Juden reicht das Spektrum der Balkan-Musik.

The musicians …
The diversified voice of multiinstrumentalist Sabine Stelzer is strongly inspired by various vocal styles from southeast Europe, of the Balkans and the Orient. Inspired by the Bulgarian voices with their devotional and emotional sound she lets the listener take part in an archaic journey to the origins of music.
The expirienced bagpipe – player Achim Eberle transforms every musical piece into a powerful expression of a brilliance and depth which is seldomly heared.
The acoustic bass player Jeekara Horst lays the foundation, accompanies the vocals by melodic patterns that connect, in a playful way, southeast – European rhythm and harmony of the music.
Philip Wienand travels along on the bands musical journey, and plays the Balkan – rhythms, which are often uneven, naturally and at the same time with great intensity, so that the listener may be enchanted and moved.
Internationally known virtuoso and pioneer of medieval music, Michael Popp, weaves oriental soundscapes into every piece, he is calling to life the magic of the music from various centuries and countries.

Die Musiker .
Die facettenreiche Stimme der Multiinstrumentalistin Sabine Stelzer ist stark inspiriert von verschiedenen Gesangsstilen Südosteuropas und des Vorderen Orients. Insbesondere Einflüsse der bulgarischen Stimmen mit ihrem hingebungsvoll emotionalen Gesang sind unüberhörbar und lassen die Zuhörer an einer archaischen Reise zu den Ursprüngen der Musik teilhaben.
Der versierte Dudelsackspieler Achim Eberle verwandelt jedes Musikstück in einen kraftvollen Ausdruck von einer selten gehörten Brillianz und Tiefe.
Der Akustik Bassist Jeekara Horst bildet das Fundament, Melodiebögen begleiten die Gesangsstimmen und verbinden auf spielerische Art südosteuropäischen Rhythmus und Harmonie der Musik.
Philip Wienand begleitet die musikalische Reise mit verschiedenen Percussion-Instrumenten, und spielt die Balkan- und Orient-Rhythmen mit Selbstverständlichkeit und gleichzeitig mit einer Intensität, die den Zuhörer verzaubert und bewegt.
