DESCRIPTION:
Solid waste is a big challenge before almost all Indian cities. With substantial rise in education and living standard, the solid waste menace has multiplied too. Stray animals add further fuel to the fire. Rag pickers earn their bread out of it but at what cost. They operate in the most inhuman conditions. Little children risk themselves to all kinds of health hazards while picking the salable waste. Drastic action by the government and the people seems to be need of the hour.
