Sofa King combines a jazz, funk, soul and R&B sound with honesty, emotion and deep down, feelgood dance grooves. Each song is a reflection of the diversity of parts that make up this dynamic group.
Funk and soul peppered with a message of social justice and love.

While Sofa King is a bass driven, hard funk act, they pay homage to the stylistic groove funk of the 70's and 80's. Whether it be disco, R&B or swung funk, Sofa King has something to offer every soul music lover and anyone who likes to dance!

Sofa King is a funk and soul music project established in Chico CA in 2012. We are musicians, activists, lovers and all around funksters. Our goal is to bring soulful dance music to the world.

Christina has been singing and performing for 34 years. Trained in musical theater, opera and show choir~ originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Christina performs with a soulful, bluesy vocal style~in Spanish and English. She is a writer, philosophist and critical analyst. Christina is a political activist and has worked on social justice issues for 15 years.


Scott Beasley is a seasoned drummer hailing from LA. He was a member of one of the top rock bands in the late eighties that dominated the Sunset Strip, Wombat. His influences are Neil Peart, Keith Moon and John Bonham. He has played locally with many bands including Pincushion from Oroville, CA.

Alan Holbrook has been playing bass most of his life, growing up with a family of musicians and bass players, he also designs and crafts his own custom bass guitars. He takes influence from Les Claypool, Flea and other funky, hard edged players. His slap, in your face style is a force to be reckoned with.
