"I Second That Emotion" peaked for three weeks at #4 on the U.S.
Billboard "Hot 100" singles chart in December 1967. At the same time it reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard "R&B Singles" chart. The song was a million-selling hit for Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, and their sixth overall. The song Robinson courting a girl who, weary of the game of love, prefers to string her men along and not get romantically involved. Robinson "wants no part" in this kind of a relationship, but promises that if she changes her mind, he'll be with her willingly.
