Sang this song with tears streaming down my face the day after Prince died. Have sung this song since I was a teenager. I saw D'Angelo on Jimmy Fallon doing the same song in the same way I did. Taking nothing away from him, I still want to put this tribute out because of my connection to this song. Growing up in Buffalo, I sat by the window sill watching it snow in April many times; sadly thinking about loss. It has become one of the most endearing Prince songs I love. For many years now, I have put out independent music and over and over again, the reviews all have echoed the same thing "Prince comes to mind" or "for fans of Prince" or "sounds like Prince". I personally don't think so but I sing this for myself and for all the true Prince fans out there. No copyright infringement intended in this free non-commercial tribute. Really smart, cool, multi-talented and with so much to share. This has been a really difficult few weeks coming to terms with the fact that my brother is no longer here and I will never get a chance to shake his hand and say "thank you for all years of great music". But now I just say: Dear Prince, thank you for sharing so much of your soul with us. I pray that you've been received greatly on the other side. I wish U Heaven.
