This version of Elton John's "Skyline Pigeon" was the first release of the song, during the time when Elton John & Bernie Taupin were working in London's Tin Pan Alley as song writers for Dick James Music Publishing. Elton later released the song himself on his very first album "Empty Sky" in 1969.

Roger James Cooke was better known under his real name Roger Cook as a song writer (with Roger Greenaway), with such hits as "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing", and also the lead singer of the English band Blue Mink.
