DESCRIPTION:
Rāga (Sanskrit, lit. "colour" or "mood") refers to melodic modes used in Indian classical music. In the Indian musical tradition, rāgas are associated with different times of the day, or with seasons. Today, we will enjoy three Ragas i.e. Morning raga, Afternoon (rainy season) raga and Evening (love raga).

-Pranab Kumar Biswas (Singer)-

Pranab is a young talented rising vocalist from India. He has been rigorously trained under Ustad Rashid Khan and Ustad Nissar Hussain Khan saheb. Currently Pranab is under guidance of Pt. Rajan Sajan Mishra. Pranab has won several awards in India and has been appreciated immensely by the media. He has also been a playback singer in Bollywood movies and has worked with music directors like Shantunu Moitra and Preetam. He has sung in movies like Khoyaa Khoyaa Chand, Laage Raho Munnabhai, Eklavyaa, Banaras , etc. along with top vocalist like Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan and Sonu Nigam. Pranab is currently in NJ teaching Indian Classical music in Taalsashana- School of Indian Music.

-Joe Battaglia (Guitarist)-
Born in Brooklyn New York, Joe became inspired to become a musician after graduating high school. He went on to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Rutgers University, finally receiving a Bachelor's Degree from William Paterson University in Jazz Studies.
Joe has also done a number of radio shows since 1995 for WVIA radio. George Graham radio show host, producer, and engineer has featured Joes music as part of WVIAs Homegrown Music series.
Joe has been performing, recording, and teaching in the New York/New Jersey area for over twenty years and enjoys playing in diverse musical settings from theater shows to original conceptual music.
Joe has played New York Jazz clubs such as "The Blue Note", "Sweet Basils"(now Sweet Rhythms), "Knitting Factory", "Zinc Bar", "Tonic", "Smoke" etc

-Aditya Narayan Banerjee (Tabla)-
Aditya is disciple of Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri, a world renowned tabla exponent of Lucknow Gharana. He has been performing in India, Europe and US. He is the FIRST PERCUSSIONIST to perform in the WHITE HOUSE for President Bush and other dignitaries in Nov 2007. He has been accompanying many leading artists such as Pt. Jasraj, Pt. Ratan Sajan Mishra, Shankar Mahadevan and many more in India as well as abroad d. He is a resident faculty teaching Tabla in TAALSADHANA School of Indian classical music, NJ.

-Partha Sarathi Chaterjee (Sitarist)-
Parthasarathi is a young talented rising sitarist from India. He has been trained under Pt. Indranil Bhattacharya (disciple of Baba Alauddin Khan Maihar Gharana) in guru Sishya Parampara style. Partha comes from a family of musicians. His father Chandrakumar Chatterjee was a leading tabla player of his days. His aunt Meera Banerjee and uncle late Pandit Prasun Banerjee have been the doyens of Indian vocal music. He has lots of distinguished classical conferences to his credits. Currently he is a visiting faculty teaching string instruments in Taalsadhana- school of Indian Music, NJ. Apart from being a pure Indian classical performer, has played with few western maestros.
Patha has been accompanied by tabla maestros like Pandit Swapan Chowdhury, Ustad Sabir Khan, and Vickram Ghosh to name a few dignities. He was conferred with Jadubhatta award for his musical proficiency in 2000. He stood first in National scholarship in 1999.

-Leo LaBarge (Drummer)-
Leo LaBarge began playing drums at age seven when he combined a set of "found objects" in the basement of a Union City tenement to create his instrument. He has played across a broad range of styles including alternative jazz with the Bear People Quintet, R&B with The Steamin' Jimmies and later with Fuzzy Dice, folk-jazz with Shot of Redemption, pop/rock with Unsung Heroes and roots blues with the Lee DelRay Band. Leo studied for years with Northern New Jersey legend Muzzy Mizzoni, as well as jazz great Ronnie Bedford. Leo has also taken lessons from world-class players such as Bill Goodwin, Andrew Cyrille, Billy Ward, and Milford Graves. His interest in unique musical opportunities has seen him perform with poets, dancers, theater productions, cabarets, and improvised marching bands. Leo is currently working and recording with singer/songwriter Judy Aron. Another ongoing project is Perfect Angle, a group of studio musicians who gather to write and record original music. Leo teaches snare drum and drum set privately and many of his students work professionally in the area, NYC, and along the East coast.
