The studio is synonymous with countless classic Australian acts. From Augie March to Architecture in Helsinki, from John Farnahm through to Jet, Jebadiah and Jimi Barnes. The producer and engineer listing is equally exhaustive, with the cream of Australias knob twiddlers having manned the helm of many projects within the Sing Sing complex. With four studios in the main complex, including Neve VR60, SSL G+ and SSL K-series consoles, along with a purpose built, surround capable, mastering room, Sing Sing has all the bases covered for tracking and mixing. If you dont see what you need at the main complex, you can wander down the road to Sing Sing South where youll find a 24-channel Neve room attached to a 150 square meter recording area. As for outboard, you couldnt find a more thorough gear listing in the country. Pultec EQs, LA-2As, UREI 1176s and Neve 1073s are Sing Sings stock in trade, and theres copious numbers of all the aforementioned standards, both equipping the studios and available for hire.
All Sing Sings studios incorporate dedicated lounge and relaxation areas, with a central games area for pool or table tennis, near the sunny courtyard and larger than life kitchen. The proprietor has a healthy appreciation for timber and leather, and the decor reflects his impeccable taste. Seriously one of the greatest studios in Australia.
