Greetings !! I am Vernon Bourne aka Singing Vernon. A humble servant of Jah Almighty ordained to sing Roots Rock Reggae . I do love and respect the natural beauty of Mother Earth. Let us all help her to stay green. And of course you know I love my home the beautiful Island of Jamaica. I man grew up in a small town call Santa Cruz, in the parish of St. Elizabeth. I attended the Santa Cruz All Age School and St. Elizabeth Technical High School Big up to my school mates all over.
Growing up I was always around music. My father and uncle were musicians in the 50's and 60's, playing Mento,Ska, and Blues in a band called "The Red Hot Six" and/or "Colgate Band", based in Santa Cruz. I developed my singing ability while playing records on my cousin’s "Sal Soul Disco "dancehall sound system in the 1970's.
I was influenced to do recording when I met Dudley (Bassey)Eulitt, a musician, producer and composer. Bassey is currently co-producer on my projects. I recorded my first song entitled "Times Hard" feat. Tazz Major in 2004. That recording was followed by an album entitled My Mission wich include tracks like Life Is Like A River,My Story,My Mission,Chip Hop, Love Is Hurting ,She's Gone,Keep On and Why. These tunes received rotations on air waves all over the world.
In the mean time.I'm inviting all my Friends in Jamaica and worldwide to come check I out in Santa Cruz, (northeast St Bess) Jamaica. like the commercial says, "Once You Go, You Will Find Out."
