Here is a special mix of the samplitude catalogue that is now online for sale in your dance store.

Producer Olav Basoski, born and bred in the Dutch town of Haarlem, transformed himself into one of Holland's most influential house producers during the '90s. In a time when house was still called clubhouse, Basoski created and released countless classic tracks, with the legendary vinyl series 'Samplitude' on Work Records as one of the cornerstones of his creative career. Be Yourself Music will re-release the first ten chapters - released during 1997 and 2001 - on their label Dirty Soul Records, featuring 40 of the most memorable productions by groove master Basoski.

Olav Basoski was first noticed in the scene in 1988 (!) with the project Baze & Huke. Under monickers like Sil, 6 Bells All and Pancake the Harlem Beat-trotter created magic in the studio with partners ErickE and DJ Zki (a.k.a. Chocolate Puma) and countless others pseudonyms for other co-productions. He remixed tracks by Bob Marley, Moby, James Brown, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Todd Terry, Armin van Buuren and the Vengaboys, but it's his own discography of more than 100 original tracks that made DJ/Producer Basoski an icon of clubhouse in the '90s.

Sold-out for a long time, the 'Samplitude' series originally included a large number of homegrown clubhouse pearls. Now in their first digital release, these tracks contain a wonderful memory to an exciting chapter of Dutch dance history. Although Olav had a reputation for being a "studioholic" with a more than healthy work ethic, his productions did not come to life until the weekend after the clocks had struck midnight.

Olav Basoski's prolific career delivered a new plaque of vinyl almost every month, turning him into a star in the international house scene. His infectious grooves sounded sexy and joyful, but also deep and intense. Basoski's recognizable style includes elements from funk, soul and disco, but also a warm-blooded and organic total sound. The first ten chapters of 'Samplitude' paint a wonderful picture of a golden age in the notorious history of Dutch house.
