After completing their debut album with Tim Johnston (Nick Cave, Stereophonics, Dallas Crane) and Jonathan Burnside (Sleepy Jackson, Faith No More, Eskimo Joe), Silver Night Drive are set for a big second half of the year. Fronted by Andre Warhurst, (guest guitarist on Jet's album Get Born), Silver Night Drive have gained plenty of praise both locally and abroad, including David Bowie/T-Rex producer Tony Visconti describing them as the most exciting band he'd heard all year.
From local shows in Melbourne's pub venues (with Dallas Crane, Even, Rocket Science, The City Lights, Youth Group, Airbourne, The Vines, The Cooper Temple Clause, The Casanovas, Tim Rogers and the Temperance Union to name a few), to amazing audience responses and critical acclaim at the Forum and Enmore theatres supporting Jet in Melbourne and Sydney, Silver Night Drive's music combines soaring vocals and harmonies, ripping guitars, and a driving rhythm section.
Equally at home on stage with riff laden smash and grab guitar assaults or acoustic and piano led balladry, the new album displays a versatility of songwriting; from the anthemic “Spiralling” to the reflective atmosphere of “Not that Simple”, to the wide scale finale of “Blink and it’s Gone”. This is an album full of fantastic songs, which demands and holds your attention from the very first note.
