DESCRIPTION:
This is the same nice songs with the same audio and visual shenanigans by Shoney and friends at the first version, but in this case I'm using the video from the Zoom Q2HD as well as the audio. For the other version, I used the video from the Sony HX9v camera and the audio from the Q2HD (which handles loud rock shows better anything else I know of.) See the tech notes below for more detail. I had to shorten the Title line for YouTube -- it should be "'Beer & Loathing in the Financial District'"/"'Rise of the Insects'" by Shoney Lamar and the Equal Rights." These were the last two songs of their somewhat boisterous CD release set for their appropriately named new CD, "Adult Entertainment," ("Beer..." is one of the songs off it.) Tech Notes:
I has both the Sony HX9v and Zoom Q2HD mounted on this simple flat bracket, and had aligned them to approximately shoot the same video. I had been using the Zoom H2n, an audio only digital recorder for this, but I was getting the impression that it's cousin, the Q2HD was actually better as an audio recorder for shows like this. And since it could also do video.... The Sony result was brighter and clearer, especially in the crowd scenes, but the fixed focus of the Zoom gave it different flavor. The lighting at this show made lift tough for both the Zoom and the Sony, so I thought to see how things would look in black and white. Not too bad I guess....
