Yamaha 112V needed the neck shimming but as I had no thin maple or veneer to make one, I decided to use layered masking tape so I get a nice wedge shape. We need a wedge so there are no gaps between the neck and the pocket so as not to warp the neck in any way. Many people say you should not use paper etc for shimming but I find this way to be totally acceptable...
