Having heard this song off and on, the idea of having this as a sea shanty seemed logical to my mind. As for most of these cross-pollinating musical endeavors, there are various rules broken both in adapting the original song and imitating the sea shanty style.

Pitch Correction:

I'm an arranger/composer, not a performer, so I use Melodyne to make the arrangement sound as best as possible. I see it as a vocal MIDI. If anyone ever wants to sing the melody or harmony parts to this, I always welcome other people to perform my arrangements. I also do video because I get more exposure to my arrangements this way, not because I think I'm a videographer.
