Shanta's Bio
Shanta Prince is Barbadian born and has always had a passion for music and has never kept it secret to anyone. This love stretches across different genres and time and so she has been influenced by the likes of Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Alison Hinds, Destra, Aaliyah, Beyonce, Sonique,Alicia Keys and many more from then till now. This lead to her start on the stage as a backing vocalist with Bacchanal Time Tent and for artists such as Rupee and Biggie Irie. However the time came to step out front with her first two releases Island Girl and Blind To See which featured Lil Rick. Last year her two releases We Own Ting and Wine Pon De Ting for Crop Over earned her various performances during the season which was followed by appearances at Miami Carnival the biggest being at "Girl Power". This year for crop over Shanta has started the season on a groove with her hit single "Down Dey" featuring Lil Rick. Shanta is always ready to entertain her fans cause for 2011 as her song " Down Dey" says she coming to wuk she waist, pump it up, bad behave and wild out to the soca.
