Sup… I decided to re-do my myspace page to kinda give myself the chance to introduce myself (and in some cases re-introduce myself) to the myspace music community, supporters and friends… lol. The comments and messages are appreciated… so please, keep em comin!

My name is Dre and I’m a music producer/songwriter/musician/arranger… Music is life for me and although it’s cliché to say that I eat and breathe it, people whom actually know me would tell u that that’s sincerely the truth. I taught myself to play keys at age 6 and attended music conservatory at the Armed Forces School of Music when I was 19. I studied piano of course, along with conducting and tone, ear training transposition, rhythm, theory, performance, drill… u name it. That education is what gave me the versatility that I posess today. When people ask “what type of music do u make”? My response if often… “Everything”. Pop, Rock, Reggae, Hip Hop/Rap, Alternative, House, Bossa Nova’s, Jazz, Funk…I’ve studied it all and composed it all. There is nothing that I cannot do musically. Music has brought me some of my greatest rewards and pleasures and has given me a vehicle to express my thoughts and emotions through the voices of others. My compositions are direct reflections of what goes on in my life, so for that reason, I don’t classify myself as a “beatmaker”…(not never)… I’m a composer and a writer and for those who don’t know the difference… (press play in the myspace music window).

A little on me professionally… My cousin Sha Stimuli and my brothers Key and Dub busted our asses a few years ago to try to get better as musicians, producers and artists. That led to a record deal at Virgin for Sha and a song deal for us. We went on to name ourselves “The Narcotics” and the grind began. A remix to Teairra Mari’s “Make her feel good” got landed soon thereafter that Kanye West decided to rap on it… (Go figure). LL Cool J followed shortly after with “What you Want” off the Todd Smith album, then Sizzla, Bayje, Keshia Chante, Kim Davis, DJ L feat. Junior Reid, Sheek Looch, Cassidy, Harlem’s Cash, Joell Ortiz, Lil Scrappy, soon followed. I’ve recently wrapped up production on reggae artist Sizzla’s entire independent album entitled “Get With U” and I’m currently finishing the soundtrack to the motion picture “Misunderstandings”. I’ve worked with so many talented people in the music industry and learned a lot from so many of them. I remain grateful for all the conversations that I’ve had with them for they have helped me mature and realize what truly is important and that is life is short, to enjoy the time and to reach back and help someone who may need it.

There was an old slogan that I was reminded of recently from my childhood years and I’ve never found it more relevant than right now…

“To whom much is given, much is required”

God Bless
