Shadia Mansour & M-1

Revolusjonær hiphop-cypher
Shadia Mansour er født i London, har foreldre med palestinsk bakgrunn, og tar i bruk sitt morsmål - arabisk - for å formidle et budskap bygd på frustrasjon over israelsk okkupasjonspolitikk. Som rapper har hun en bestemt ow og hennes sterkeste side, for et publikum som ikke kan arabisk, er fengende refrenger. Med seg har hun M-1, den ene halvdelen av den kontroversielle politiske rapgruppa Dead Prez. M-1 og Mansour fant tonen på «Al Ku yyeh» i 2011 og har siden sporadisk fortsatt den lyriske kampen mot imperialisme sammen.
Shadia Mansour was born in London, has parents with Palestinian background and uses her mother tongue – Arabic – to convey a message based on frustration over the Israeli occupation.To an audience that does not know arabic, catchy hooks is her most prominent skill. M-1, half of the political rap group Dead Prez, appears along with her on the main stage.They found a common path on «Al Ku yyeh» in 2011 and has since sporadically continued the lyrical struggle against imperialism together.
