Serghio Jansen born on 3 september 1987 ,is a young, talented and skillful emerging guitarist, characterized by his deep and soulful interpretation of music.
Serghio, 21, is currently attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachussets where he is studying with with David Gilmore .
He has played in some big International events such as NaguanaguaJazz Festival 2008 in Valencia,Venezuela in the group of Grammy award winning Worldknown Bassplayer

Caribbeanseajazz festival in 2007 &2008 with his own quintet,other artists that played on the same stage was “ Michel Camilo,Dafnis Prieto,Paoli Mejias ,Randal Corsen” and more .
He participated in “Jazzsummerschool workshop“ in Rotterdam,Netherlands Conservatorium
,a workshop that only accepted 50 participants worldwide and played in several venues in Rotterdam.

Also he has opened up as a guest artist for the show “Sparkling tour” which is the
“American Idol” of Aruba when he was 18 !
He has done some amazing things at Berklee college of music as well :
Giving a clinic about Rhythms from the Caribbean playing music from his paradise island of Aruba and applying it to contemporary jazz,latin,funk,fusion etc
during Latin Celebration week ,this was in his second semester!
He has been selected as one of the few guitarists to play at the biggest Guitar Event at Berklee college of music called ‘Guitar night 2008 “ in the Berklee performance Center .
Serghio,at age 13 picked up the guitar and never loooked back. In 8 years of playing, he has reached a high level of technique, sophistication, knowledge and maturity.Known for his versatility playing many styles , raised on the island of Aruba Serghio was exposed to many different exotic rhythms and musical concepts that interested him allot so he explored them which is helping him find his own voice and connect deeper to the Music . He has played in many different band settings, from his Jazz ensemble,latinjazz ensemble,progressive fusion band to more commercial music Rockbands,reggaebands etcetc.
Before Serghio left Aruba to study at Berklee he was already performing with most of the professionals on the island .
He was blessed with private classes from Ivan Jansen – his father-, a Berklee graduate and multi-faceted and versatile jazz and classical guitarist with 4 CD productions and international concerts to his name.
At a Berklee workshop in Puerto rico in 2005 Berklee College of Music awarded Serghio with an Outstanding Musicianship award
(1 in 5 of 125 participants) and a partial scholarship for four years.
