we held each other in the empire of hate
then dragged through dreams
our bodies set ablaze
become two ghosts of sunday film
like sister and brother
kissing myself, holding myself
as if you were somebody else
in the empire of my soul
from an empire long, long ago
beacons of passion in the empire of doom
fell like a nuke into my black pupil
i know i'm unbelievable
to those i can't relate to
and if i ever did with you
could i escape the unfullfilled doom
having a laugh behind my back
in the empire of my heart?
