Mojo is a glowing, dance floor motivator of a deep house track by the production duo, Jesus Pablo & Sean Danke (Liverpool/Reykjavik). Crisp tight drums punch through wide open pads to encapsulate an outdoor party rhythm just in time for Spring and Summer. Mojo works its jazzy spell by combining infectious chords with a bassline that creates sub bass momentum. Mojo has the feeling of vintage Blue Note or Prestige but it avoids cliche by simply suggesting jazz as an abstract impression of notes and chords and not as a reference to sampling.

The Robot Needs Oil Remix builds an entrancing polyphony of rolling tribal drums around the original groove. The jazz chords are translated through a softly stated piano that opens the way for a guitar that is as big as an orange sun in the evening sky. Open notes of a Hammond organ are animated by a spinning leslie cabinet to counter the resonance of a synth lead, building a harmony that is both emotionally and physically moving.

The Daniel Allen Remix turns the lights off and distills Mojo into straight body heat. The jazz chords are pushed through a modulation while the kicks and bassline punch you in the chest to make an entrancing remix that sounds like a voodoo bag of peyote. This one is intoxicating and will fill the warehouse with energy and mystery.

Mojo will be released on May 22nd, 2012 and will be available for purchase at Beatport, Stompy, and iTunes.

Gavin Boyce "Hard one to call here all 3 are so good. Lovely warm drums on the original just shade it for me...great production from Jesus as usual. Headset becoming a serious go to label for deep house!"

Desos "So so so good!!"

Al Bradley "A classy joint across all three cuts here; the original is a smart warm vibe, if a touch repetitious, Daniel's mix is a great slightly more techy rework, but the pick for me is Robot Needs Oil, whose mix takes me back to some of the Balearic influenced vibes I picked up in the late 80s/early 90s, top notch sparkling grooves :)"
