SCREAMING FOR EMILY.

Though they are still around today in 2012, nothing can touch their earlier sound that was a cross between new wave and goth. Think THE CURE & GENE LOVES JEZEBEL. In fact, they got their name from a Gene Loves Jezebel classic "Screaming For Emmalene".

The original, alternative band from the Jersey Shore. Screaming for Emily was formed in Long Branch, N.J. in 1986. The band released "Grey The Sky" a 45 single that same year. In 1987, Screaming for Emily released "SCRIPTURES"; a 6 song EP. They made the college charts and received radio airplay and worldwide distribution. The single "The Love" was a goth dance floor fave! The band played many sold out shows. Including shows at; THE STONE PONY in Asbury Park, N.J. and DANCETERIA in NYC.

Screaming For Emily returned in 2005 with their first album in nearly 18 years called Malice. Their first video "Deity" from the album "Malice" was soon to follow. In 2006 they released "Scriptures" for the first time on CD. In 2007 they released another album "The Sea". . SCRIPTURES will still live on as one of the best new wave albums of the 80's!
