Trailer of PORNOCRACY by THE LOVELY SAVALAS (edit by Christian Battiferro) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 05, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
THE LOVELY SAVALAS is a band of talented and breezy Italian musicians.

They combine catchy and engaging tunes to create refined arrangements in an original blend of alternative rock. Showcasing an intense live experience, they cut their teeth touring in the U.S., England, and Italy, taking part in festivals, opening for nationally known artists, and performing in front of large audiences and TV shows.

Their early influences were Faith no More, Jane's Addiction, Tool and the Beatles. Reminiscent of some of the best alt rock of the 90's and 2000's, their sound has been compared to a mixture of Stone Temple Pilots, Radiohead, & A Perfect Circle.

Their first EP PLASTIC PILLS FOR HAPPY PASSANGERS drew the attention of the American indie label ABOVEGROUND RECORDS, who led them on a west coast tour in 2008 and invited them to record their first full-length album in 2009.

The immediacy of their music inspired some of the greatest alternative musicians, such as NICK OLIVERI (Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Mondo Generator), MARTYN LENOBLE (Porno For Pyros, Jane's Addiction, Dave Gahan), SCOTT MCLOUD (Girls Against Boys, Paramount Style), MASSIMO PUPILLO (ZU, Mike Patton), XABIER IRIONDO (Uncode Duello, Afterhours), to join them in the studio and play.

The result is PORNOCRACY, an album featuring a fine mixture of genres, styles, and trenchant lyrics. PORNOCRACY has numerous potential radio hits, such as TRUST NO ONE, FASHION GIRL, DESERT OF DECEMBER, SHINE ON ME TONIGHT, DIVE. etc., and will be released in early 2011.

Make sure you check out this soon to be classic record, and don't miss one of the band's upcoming shows in a city near you.

PRESS

"You can find rock, punk rock and progressive rock, and the result is a crossover, that quotes and reminds me of the genius bands of British pop. I could listen to them for hours ...it's a sort of Free rock or Mood Music, that affects the mood of the listener.
Alessio Rassi - www.mentelocale.it

"If you take Andy Summers of Police and let him play with Korn, then the sound you'll get will be very similar to that of The Savalas. They have the incredible ability to make something new, putting together all their influences."
Fabrizio Galassi -- Talent Scout -- www.kataweb.it

"Plastic Pills for Happy Passengers" is a valuable work, and if these guys decided to pass to a higher ground, we would be in front of the direct descendants of the best At The Drive In...
