DESCRIPTION:
Juuso Kunttu's Biospectral Compounds for 33 string instruments (2005) uses spectral harmony from microtonal tuning system of 31-limit extended just intonation. Dynamics and durations are derived aleatorically from "biological rhythms", such as breathing and heartbeat of the players. The composition is a study of threefold process: creation, sustaining and destruction.

Juuso Kunttu (b. 1981) is a finnish composer, musicologist and instrument builder.
