Hey Everybody!
*This is Sabrina Vargas personally writing to you. No bio's, just you and me. You came to this page cause something or some kind of energy sent you my way… so thank you for stopping by. Means a lot I appreciate you listening.
* So… hear's my very short, short story. It felt better to write this then a self-portrait bio. See, I'm not telling you my story to be over zealous. I'm like u… just a person with a dream. So let me share with you who Sabrina Vargas is, what's she like… and here I go into 3rd person. So here it is…
* My world changed at 9. I always wanted to fall in love…and that's when music found me. By 16 and what a crazy ride it was… I played in 5 small rock, blues, soul and R&B jazz bands later… I started focusing more on my solo attempts, but was not successful at one point and fell out of love with music. It was a lot like a bad relationship? With time and forgiveness a rebuild of the spirit began.
* Music found me again and we became a complete song. What fueled me was the sound that music would make it spoke to me in phrases of poetry, a teacher with experience, and it was a self-commitment to an open door that would become a dream or goal to meet one day.
* One day my friend asked me why don't I make a record? That point in my life I never considered the idea? I was happiest being a featured artist or the girl you hired to do back ups? I admit I was shy…some people say I'm not close to being shy. Believe it or not I am. So my self-titled record was born after writing 10 songs with my writing partner. And many sleepless nights of just jamming these songs and bringing them to life. Few months later, we hit the So-Cal LA scene and played as many places that would be willing to listen. It was a really fun and great experience. Live shows, the people, radio play, first interviews and your friends and family. Every opportunity felt good and meant something special in my journey.
* Eventually, I embraced the time "to go away to come back". It was time for a long break to just chill out. Simply to travel and experience new things and get inspired again by what I see and feel, so I could write another record with meaning and substance. I plan to come out with another record… and currently I'm working on a new rock, soul side-project called The Tempered.
