RUIN

In an age where any metal band that comes from New England is invariably lumped in with the likes of Killswitch Engage or All That Remains, Portland, Maine's Ruin have no feelings of indebtedness to the Western Massachusetts bands that put the Northeast on the metal map in the last ten years. Ruin has no desire to follow in the melo-death stylings of their forefathers. While the four band members can debate the finer points of Swedish metal for hours, these are guys who all cut their teeth on the stalwarts of American metal, like Pantera, Slayer and Metallica. Ruin has taken the crunchier bits of American metal and pushed them into the future. And now, Ruin is ready to redefine the sound of New England metal.
