Breeding Strength was started in a run down practice-space building behind the Amtrak station in Portland. Originally Zeke, Josh, and Sean; it wasnt long before another guitar player by the name of Dan was chosen to back Seans killer riffs. However, after playing a single show, Dan ran into some personal troubles and was forced to leave. Then Zeke founded 2 friends who we all know very well and all went to high school with. James, originally a guitar player decided to give the bass a shot, and Ian, with tons of new equipment and years of practice was ready to join in. With those additions, the birth of Breeding Strength happened.
Five guys, all with their own personal hardships, all from their own worlds, come together to create emotion driven music to express themselves in purest of forms. Each individuals love, drive, and perseverance for the art of music acts as the glue for their friendships, and fuel for their musical determination.
Breeding Strengths musical motif is one that does not fall prey to the stereotypical metal code. Like so many bands wrapped up in the dark, morbidity of what they think kids buy into, Breeding Strength uses their songs as a tool for their persuasive message, and a weapon against those who oppose. Their high energy, heart pounding songs inspires you to stand up and fight for what you believe in, fight for what is right, and take a stand against the people that make your life a living hell. Sounding like a twisted hybrid between: As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage and Pantera, their sound and message is one that sticks with the listener hours and days after the show.
What to expect to hear, hard, heavy, head banging music. Songs that stretch vocalist Zeke Prices vocal cords from the high pitched, Through The Eyes of the Dead screams, to the low growl of a Cannibal Corpse concert, with the occasional singing of a chorus. Also, expect to hear brutal break downs, fast double bass, and ripping guitar solos.
IN ALL, THEY ONLY WISH TO ACCOMPLISH ONE MAJOR GOAL. TO ELIMINATE AND DRIVE OUT THE STUPIT IDEOLOGY OF THE SHELTERED CONSUMER LIFESTYLE AND OPEN EVERYONES EYES TO THE TRUTH BEHIND THEIR OWN LIVES.
