Rude Movements is the internationally acclaimed NYC club night begun in 2003 by Gamall Awad, Karl Injex and Tyler Askew. Born out of a desire to stimulate cultural and musical diversity, Rude has evolved into the nexus for a growing community of artists, thinkers and music lovers.

In the 3 years since it's inception, Rude has become synonymous with progressive soul music, joining forces with Puma to break such artists as SA-RA and Waajeed in NYC, and hosting Dj legends Theo Parrish, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Pete Rock, Carl Craig and Benji B among others. Rude differentiates itself through its visual prowess, collaborating with world-renowned artists and designers like graffiti legend Mode2, typo-master Swifty, illustrator Ian Wright and through in-house art direction and photography (courtesy of veteran lens-man Dustin Ross).

Hosts Ibrahim Matin and Tchaiko Omwale not only help to curate one of NYCs freshest followings, but also extend the rude ethos through their involvement with bi-coastal musical and political events. Rudes influence is also reaching beyond the club with the release of a 12" from legendary 90s hip-hop producer Shawn J. Period, appearances on Gilles Petersons Worldwide BBC radio show, and a series of limited apparel projects for the Japanese market.
