Electronic-drenched alt-popsters Rubicks are slowly emerging as a breath of fresh air on the London music scene and beyond. Their sound has been described by the NME as possessing a 'fantastic ability to synthesize the pop pout of Blondie, the chilled machine thrum of Goldfrapp and the rock sensibilities of the Pixies into one late night, last-dance swirl of cheap lipstick and perfume.'

Consisting of Vanessa Anne Redd (vocals/guitar), Marc Makarov (bass), Anthony Johns (drums) and Vee Vimolmal (synths/MPC2000), the band have consistently achieved critical acclaim for their releases over the years including 2006's 'In Miniature' album and their much admired 2009 'Idiot Time' EP. Tracks of theirs have appeared on Rough Trade and Modular DJs compilations, and their two singles released earlier in 2010 'Giddy Up' and 'Is This Love?' had blogs and press buzzing landing them some of their most favourable reviews to date.

Rubicks have toured extensively across Europe, North America and the UK including performances at SXSW, Canadian Musicweek and, interestingly, a festival in the middle of a Lithuanian forest in addition to having supported Gary Numan, John Foxx, White Rose Movement on various tours.

The band have just released their third single of 2010 entitled 'Worship' and are putting the finishing touches to their upcoming album 'Rise and Fall of the Giddy' which is due out in early 2011 with UK tour dates to follow.
