Born and raised in Pensacola FL, Randy knew from an early age that music is what he wanted to do and has been playing bass for almost 30 years. He spent 10 yrs working as a music and choir director in both Florida and Michigan before moving to Nashville Tennesee in 1994. Randy is an accomplished performer in a variety of styles including Jazz, R&B, Country, Gospel, Pop and Rock.
Since moving to Nashville, Randy has performed, toured and or recorded with Lee Ann Womack, Michael McDonald, Trisha Yearwood, Don Henley, Pam Tillis, Larry Carlton, Daryle Singletary, Rhett Akins, Jeff Carson, Chad Brock, Jana Long, The Katinas, Hal Ketchum, Deanna Carter & Christ Church Choir to name a few.
A few years ago, Randy also had a record deal on Summit Records with his own traditional jazz band, Nash de'Ville. They released one album titled "Things Ain't What They Used To Be". The album included brilliant guest performances by guitar great Larry Carlton, saxphonists Kirk Whalum and Mark Douthit and pianist/songwriter Pete Wasner.
Randy and his beautiful wife, Jan have been married for over 22 years. They have two great kids. Zachary 16 and Madison 12. Both of which are talented in their own rights.
In addition to honing my skills and ablities as a bassist and a vocalist, I believe in having a positive attitude is equally important. To quote Zig Ziglar from his book Over the Top, "A possitive attitude won't bring you everything you want but it will bring you more than negative thinking will". I believe in excellence and I strive for excellence in everything that I do. Whether playing sessions, club gigs or touring with an artist, I believe in giving my very best. Put it on the top shelf, as my dad used to say.
I'm continually thankful and truly blessed to be making a living as a professional musician. I AM LIVING MY DREAM!!!!! However, that being said, being a musician is what I DO. As I'm constantly trying to know who I am in Christ and why I'm here, what I strive to BE is the husband, father, brother, son and friend that I believe God wants me to be. I pray that you find who you are in Christ and God blesses you and gives you PEACE in the pursuite of your dreams!!!!!!!!"
