DESCRIPTION:
Ras Takura, of Royal African Soldiers, is a Jamaican Reggae Dub Poet, recording and performing artiste, Farmer, Painter and Conscious Rasta man who resides on the country side of the island. As an artiste he has performed on numerous different events both in Jamaica and abroad. He has done shows such as Reggae Sumfest, St. Mary Mi Come From, Capleton & Frenz, FiWi Singting, Rebel Salute and Heineken Staretime, plus he has made numerous appearances in schools, Colleges and Universities. He has also received favorable air play on Jamaica's #1 radio station IRIE FM. He has had numerous interviews on reggae stations in Amsterdam, England and the U.S.A. where his music is played. He has received coverage from the major Jamaican newspapers, The Daily Gleaner and The Star, and has appeared on Television Jamaica TVJ, C.P.C.T.C, C.V.M. TV and more recently did a project with Word Sound Power that is being featured on BETJ.
