DESCRIPTION:
A folk song about Rothbury, Coquetdale and family, written and sung by Duncan Appleby. The song was recorded in London in 1990-91 and is an autobiographical composition reflecting Duncan's love for Northumberland, the Coquet Valley and his home town of Rothbury, and written as a tribute to his parents, family and home.
This song has been digitally restored from a dusty old tape and, much to my satisfaction, is still well worth a listen. There's a good acoustic guitar solo in the middle, performed by an overpaid session musician. I'm laughing, he was probably underpaid to be honest.
Cheers,
Duncan.
