Timing is everything. And it's about time you were introduced to RootHub. And what better way to introduce you to the intimacy, vulnerability and depth of this troubadour, than to invite you to bear voyeuristic witness to a truly transformational and personal moment in the man's life.

In the video for "Hey Mamita" the viewer is close-up and personal as RootHub cuts off, one by one, a decade and a half of dreadlocks. The spectrum of emotions displayed so honestly on his face during this clearly intense process is at once devastating, inspiring, and moving.

RootHub's music has been dubbed "Life Music". His songs leave the listener vibrating a bit higher at their end. His voice, deep, gravelly, and smoky is familiar and yet different than anything you've likely heard. There is a sensitivity, a positivity and an honesty that transmits so clearly through this music. RootHub spent years splitting time between the rich jungles of Kauai, LA, and NY, finding and refining his voice and writing dozens of songs, each one a story. One part Kerouac, 2 parts Dylan, one part Tom Waits, a dash of salt water and you've got Root Hub, a modern enigma.

RootHub's latest EP, One foot in the city / One foot in the sea is released in conjunction with this video completely free of charge and available for download from the artist's website Roothub.com "I've learned that freeing yourself is one of the easiest things to do, once you let go. So what better way to free myself than to set my music free?" -RootHub
