Last night, North Miami Beach was treated to a special event as producer !llimind brought his BLAP Producer Showcase to South Florida for iStandard Producers' Beat Camp. Beat Camp is a weekend long educational event for local producers. iStandard Producers takes Beat Camp on the road and sets up shop in cities such as Miami, Atlanta, and NYC. Since the crew came down to my area, I had to stop by and check it out.

If you've never been to a BLAP Showcase, I highly recommend it. This was my second one; the first being at A3C in Atlanta last year. Created by producer !llmind, the BLAP Showcase features some of Hip Hop's best producers in the game. They go through and play snippets of their best known beats and then they offer us an exclusive preview of beats they are currently working on that are yet to be released or even recorded over.

At the Miami edition of the BLAP Showcase we had producers Gorilla Tek (Trick Daddy, Trina, Jacki-O), !llmind (Skyzoo, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Torae), StreetRunner (Lil' Wanye, SlaughterHouse, Fat Joe, 2 Chainz), The Renegades (Young Jeezy, Meek Mill, Pusha T), J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League (Rick Ross, Mobb Deep, Mary J Blige, Drake, Lil Wayne, Bun B), and Cainon Lamb (Keyshia Cole, Beyonce, Monica, SWV, Jazmine Sullivan).

Now last night I tried to get as much footage as I could with my phone, so don't expect these video to be of professional quality. The sound came out excellent given I was standing right next to the speaker, but the video is a tad grainy and shaky at times. At any rate, it's all about the music, right?
