'Rock Around With Ollie Vee' - Buddy Holly Ukulele - Jez Quayle - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 30, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
Here's a great rockabilly song that Buddy Holly recorded on two occasions during his 'Nashville sessions'. It was written by his friend, the guitarist, songwriter, and eventual Cricket, Sonny Curtis. At this time, Buddy was heavily influenced by Elvis Presley's recordings on the Sun record label.

Here are the chords I play:

Intro: G / / / G7 / // C / / / C#dim / / /
G / / / D7 / / / G / C / G /

(D7) Well, (G)rock to the rhythm and the (G7)blues tonight
(C)Rock ‘cause everything gonna (C#dim)be alright
‘Cause to(G)night we’re gonna (D7)rock to the rhythm and the (G)blu—ues (C)(G)

Well, I (G)got a little girl a-called (G7) Ollie Vee
Ollie (C)Vee come from Memphis, (C#dim)Memphis Tennessee
An’ to(G)night we’re gonna (D7)rock, a-rock around with Ollie (G)Vee, (C)Ollie, Ollie (G)Vee (D7)
