Robert Lonnie Johnson

Robert Johnson's BACKBONE is American singer/songwriter Robert Lon Johnson and many fine talented musicians from Europe.



Born Robert Lon Johnson in Long Beach, California in 1949.

"Mama called me Lonnie, Daddy called me fine boy."

Johnson was the product of an Arizona cowboy and horseman, Fred Johnson and his wife Dorothy.

"Daddy never stayed in one place too long as he was a born drifter, yet he managed to keep his family of six kids and Mama together while moving at least 25 times before I was 25 years old."

From California to Kansas City, Carson City to Northern Idaho, and back to Kansas City, "I feel like the road has been my home".

After leaving home in Independence, Missouri, Johnson set out on his own journey, moving place to place for no particular reason other than "it was time to make the move." First back to Nevada, a short stint in San Francisco, then to the Colorado Rockies for a few years before heading up to Northern Idaho and Washington State. "And the ride aint over yet !"

Now living and singing to his hearts content in a beautiful little European country, Johnson left his home in Northwest Arkansas at the turn of the millenium for no particular reason and "now I'm here."
