Pixinguinha Chorou is a composition by Rob Curto written to honor the music of the great Brazilian composer, arranger flautist and saxophonist Alfredo da Rocha Viana, Jr., better known as Pixinguinha.

Pixiniguinha was responsible for modernizing and popularizing an important form of Brazilian instrumental music, Choro in the 1920's and 30's.

Played here by a new trio based in Philadelphia with Rob Curto on accordion, Frank Rein on trombone and Chad Brown on Drums.

Performed live on January 22nd, 2017 at the Howl at the Moon Concert Series, produced by Jennifer Rajotte.
