The myth of exercises to strengthen the ring finger and pinky. Finger exercises are unnecessary if the pianist plays with proper movement. Improper movement can lead to repetitive stress injuries such as median nerve entrapment (carpal tunnel syndrome). The good news is that most injuries are reversible with proper movement. Or, you can have surgery but still have the movement problem.
