"Rocky Mountain Way" is a 1973 song by rock guitarist Joe Walsh and his band Barnstorm, with writing credits given to Rocke Grace, Kenny Passarelli, Joe Vitale, and Joe Walsh. The song was originally released on the album The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get. It bears many similarities to a track by Sly & The Family Stone called "Sex Machine", from their 1969 album Stand!, including several vocal and instrumental motifs (as well as being in the same key), the use of a processed vocal (accomplished mainly via an effect named the talk box, but possibly backed with mouth organ, synthesizer and a harmonium), and the overall feel (and 6/8 meter) of the song, with 2 guitars playing the solo. The song was used to title the 1985 compilation album Rocky Mountain Way which features previously unreleased singles and alternatives tracks from So What to Got Any Gum?.
