Rigo Pencheff has since 1991 been one of the leading characters and driving

forces behind the Stockholm based music collective Infinite Mass.

Before that he was a member of The Latin Kings, a celebrated Hip Hop act often

considered the first of its kind in Sweden. With Infinite Mass he won the

Swedish Rap Championships in 1992, and they released their first hit

single "Area Turns Red" the year after.

Having released their Gold Awarded & Grammy award winning debut album "The Infinite

Patio" in 1995, Rigo and his Infinite Mass colleague Amir Chamdin spent

time in Los Angeles, drawing inspiration from the thriving West Coast Hip Hop

scene. In 1997 the group reached the Swedish album charts for the first

time with "Always Somethang", an album which among others saw guest

appearances from rap legend Melle Mel.

Infinite Mass returned in 2002 with a new Gold Selling and Grammy nominated album ”The Face” album and a new sound. The earlier Hip Hop influences were now slightly toned down, and a heavier guitar based sound was taking shape on singles like "Enter the Dragon", Gold single ”Bullet” and "She´s a Freak".

In 2004 they released their monumental album "1991" to great

critical acclaim and also Grammy nominated for Best Urban act, including 2 top 10 hit songs "The Thief" and "#1 Swartskalle" and was the most played group on the national radio that year. The same year the band headlined the Kalas Summer Festival

Tour, further proving their status as the best live band in Sweden.

Away from Infinite Mass Rigo runs Topaz Records, a Reggae label he

founded with friends in 1997. With a handful of producers attached to the label,

they have produced rythms for several prominent acts including Beenie

Man, Tanya Stephens, Capleton, Mr Vegas among others. In 2004 they released a very successful compilation of Cuban reggaeton including El Medicos ”Chupa Chupa”, which was the first of its kind. The Topaz Soundsystem is a regular on the European club circuit, and has been instrumental in spreading the sounds of Dancehall and Reggaeton in this

part of the world.

Last year saw the arrival of Rigos first solo single, "Say Say Say", a

duet with RnB singer Pauline. The two wer brought together by producer Tobias

Karlsson, who had also worked on the latest Infinite Mass album. The

collaboration was an instant success, making "Say, Say, Say" the definite

Swedish summer hit of 2005. The follow up single "She's A Pro" was

released before Christmas, and immediately attracted heavy airplay on MTV as well

as the major Scandinavian radio stations. The third single ”Cool” reached top 5 on the Swedish single chart.

With the production of his debut album reaching its completing stages,

and a European launch on the way, 2006 looks destined to be the year when Rigo

reaches major success as a solo artist!
