วิวัฒนาการของเพศนั้นเป็นเรื่องที่มีการถกเถียงกันมานานในวงการชีววิทยา ว่าเพศนั้นมีขึ้นเพื่ออะไร โดยในปัจจุบันนี้มีอยู่หลายสมมติฐานที่มีการเสนอ เช่น สมมติฐานของฟิชเชอร์มูลเลอร์ ที่เสนอว่าเพศสามารถคงลักษณะกลายพันธุ์ที่มีประโยชน์เอาไว้ได้, สมมติฐาน mutational deterministic ของคอนดราชอฟที่เสนอว่าเพศสามารถกำจัดจีโนมที่ทำให้เกิดการตายทิ้งไปได้, อีกทั้งมีการเสนอสมมติฐาน Red Queen ซึ่งกล่าวถึงการแข่งขันกันของสิ่งมีชีวิตที่เกี่ยวข้องกับวิวัฒนาการของเพศ แล้วทำไมถึงชื่อว่าสมมุติฐาน Red Queen และเกี่ยวข้องอย่างไรกับการวิวัฒนาการของเพศ เราจะมาหาคำตอบร่วมกันในวันนี้

Evolution of sex is one of the most controversial problems in evolutionary biology. Why there is sex in natural? Nowadays, many hypotheses are proposed to explain this problem such as Fisher-Muller hypothesis suggests that sex has an ability to maintain novel advantageous mutants, Mutational deterministic by Kondrashov suggests that sex has an ability to purge bad genome, and the Red Queen hypothesis suggests that individuals have to compete with each other. Why this hypothesis is call Red Queen and how it involves with evolution of sex? We are going to find the answer together, right away.
