Ilya Toshinskiy is the former lead guitarist and banjo player of the Grammy nominated Russian band Bering Strait. 60 Minutes did a feature piece on the band that aired three times. Since then, Ilya has become one of the most sought after studio musicians in Nashville playing on records by Reba, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, The Doobie Brothers and many more. He also played banjo on Rascal Flatts hit "Banjo". Bluegrass music is his first love and while he is often playing guitar in the studio, he considers banjo his first instrument.
