THE RECEPTORS formed in September 2005. Since then they have played numerous venues including Whelan's, The Spirit Store and The Sugar Club. . Guitarist and vocalist Pete Johnson is no stranger to the music scene having been a member of Rumble and Volcanic Eruptions before embarking on a successful solo career. While Sonya Larrigan (percussion and backing vocals) and Helen Murphy (bass guitar) make up this dynamic trio. In October 2006 The Receptors launched their first E.P with fantastic feedback from the public with 4 songs including 'smacking the dog' 'in your face' que queres' and disappear don't fade away' the E.P will be available for purchase on myspace shortly. Although previews can be heard on www.myspace.com/thereceptors. We are an impacting three-piece outfit, who among other things reflect in our music; the destructive forces within modern society. We are currently working on new material and are planing some gigs in the capital and elsewhere.
