at the age of four, amleset solomon and her immediate family fled from eritrea and came to germany. being the fifth of six children, amleset grew up mainly in frankfurt am main. her first vocal steps were at the age of nine in a children's choir. that's when she discovered her strong passion for music and singing. as a teenager, amleset began writing lyrics as well. she found it to be an excellent tool to release her feelings and thoughts. though the thoughts were immature in the beginning, a lot of practice turned them into finished songs. at the age of 15 amleset made her first recording experiences with several studio jobs. by the end of 1999, EMI became aware of amleset and signed her as a solo artist to bring in a new era of german R&B. the recordings for her german debut album, "nimm dir die zeit", began. the album release was planned for spring of 2002. that's when amleset met producer/mc/dj fat jon, who was touring europe at the time. they realized they shared the same views and love for music. they agreed to work together in the future. fat jon, who is the founding member of the cincinnati hip hop group five deez, has been recording music since 1987. his first international production credits came in 1998. after that, he began to flood the market with his unique productions. moving to berlin in 2002, fat jon signed his group to berlin's own K7! records where he has released two albums. "kinkynasti" in 2003 and "kommunicator" in 2006. these albums add to over 40 releases fat jon has produced since his career began. amleset solomon was featured on both of those albums. for reasons unknown, EMI decided not to release her debut album. fat jon and amleset decided they would become a group and produce music together as rebel clique. no group exists on the market with such a prolific producer as fat jon and a singer with the range of amleset solomon. in 2005, they released their debut album, "unique connection". they also toured to support it. it received excellent reviews all across the world. due to its seamless mix of electronic music, hip hop and R&B, it was noted as taking soul music into the 21st century! they've done it again. after a lot of hard work in the studio, they're now ready to present their new album "still curious". in the same tradition, the music is soulful and touching. amleset's silky voice guides this album in beautiful directions with songs about love, loss and sensuality. fat jon has managed to create brand new sounds to accompany these vibes. these two artists are still curious about their own style as well as what's to come from them in the future. this is a perfect follow-up to their debut.
