Lomesh aka Admiral Kolibal from the JahMusic Family was born in Prague, Czech Republic. He has been a selector since 1998, when he fell in love with music and specially bands like Zion Train, The Disciples or Rockers Hi-Fi. However, he realised that British dub was mainly inspired by the unique treasures of Jamaican music. Therefore, he started to explore it more deeply. At first, as a selector in the dj-lounge Wakata, alongside mighty Beatz Smoking Weedz, and later also as a promoter and a journalist. Since the year 2000 he has been writing most of the articles for his website JahMusic.net, which is currently the largest reggae & world beat site in the Czech Republic. At present, he is promoting reggae & dancehall culture also monthly in Bbarák hip-hop magazine with articles and interviews to smash limits between styles and inform people about the music scene in global.
Journey to roots of reggae blessed him with an amazing opportunity to travel to Jamaica in 2003, as an assistant and musical supervisor for a film documentary about the island. This experience supported his interest in Carribean culture even more, as a result, he started to focus even more than before on this genre. For the last five years he has been working on the evolution of his sing-jay skills with the reggae band Urban Bushman and also, constantly as a selector. Since 2004 he has been working closely with the Jamaican artist and entertainer Mr. Mention, who has helped him to develop a better sense for good selection and dancehall music. In the year 2005 he won a trophy at the local 45Clash tournament and again in 2007. Today, he is more into peaceful juggling, mainly alongside DJ Herby Boy as well as, productive teamworking, because music should be for peace nor fight. Sometimes he is performing ad DJ with other singers such as Asheema & Charmeen, Yellow Sisters, Princess T, MC Zaga or mighty Big Famili from Martinique, UCee from Germany, Amdiez from France or El Condorsito from Berlin. Currently, his main work is booking of bands in the Czech Republic as well as, co-production of reggae events and promotions. But he finds it pretty impossible to give up on his own artistic soul, when inspiration comes knocking. So he is constantly working to find a balance between production and his own musical creativity. Alongside the continuous work with Urban Bushman (nominated in 2006 for the best Czech reggae album) he is still dj-ing a lot in clubs and he regularly has a raggae show on Express Radio – check out every Tuesday from 9 to 11PM @ 90.3FM or www.expresradio.cz.
